Guru Vidushi Seetha Guruprasad
Vid. Seetha Guruprasad is an exponent in Bharatanatyam. She is a perfect example of a dedicated teacher and a brilliant choreographer. Hailing from the pilgrimage city Nanjanagudu, she currently resides in Bangalore. After initial training under Vid. Usha Venugopal, Seetha received advanced training under internationally acclaimed Guru Vid. B Bhanumathi. She established ‘Bharatanjali Natya Shaale’ in Bangalore in 1993. She has been training hundreds of students in her art foundation. She is a perfect teacher who discovers the ability of her students and brings out the best in them. Seetha stands as a unique role model for all her students, who are now making a mark in national and international arenas. Under her guidance, many of her students have completed Masters and Rangapravesham.
Vid. Seetha Guruprasad’s Bharatanjali has presented successful shows in various eminent festivals. To mention a few, Vishwa Kannada Sammelana, Mysore Dasara, Hampi Utsava, Bengaluru Habba, Kinkini Nrityotsava, Cultural Extravaganza at Mount Abu, Natyanjali of Tamil Nadu, Puligere Utsava. Smt Seetha is known for her choreographic skills in thematic presentations. Her choreography is intrinsically versatile that the same theme can be presented as a solo, duet or a group production. Some of her popular productions are Panchanbhootam, Matha Parashakti, Krishnapriya Kanaka,Pulinda – the Koravi, Damodaro Vijayate, Shankara, Tulja Bhavani, Nartana Nataraja, Shyama Margam, Shiva-Shakti.
She has been recognized with many honours. To name a few, Aryabhatta international award, Kalayogi, Kalaratna, Urmika Prashasti, Kala Shreshta Prashasti, Natya Mayuri, Guru Shresta.
Vidushi Bhuvana Guruprasad
Hailing from an artistic family, Bhuvana is an immensely talented young artist, daughter and disciple of her beloved mother Guru Vid. Seetha Guruprasad. She has successfully completed Vidwat grade examination conducted by KSEEB and Alankar grade examination conducted by Gandarva Mahavidya. She holds a Master’s degree in Bharatanatyam from Sastra University under the guidence of Dr Padma Subramanyam. Her passion in classical art engraved a path also to learn Kathak form under the able guidance of Guru Bharathi Vittal and has secured Senior grade from KSEEB and Visharad from ABGMV. Currently persuing MA in Kathak from Bharati Vidyapeeth,Pune.
Bhuvana is an associate artistic director of Bharatanjali Natya shaale founded by her beloved mother. She is a Diploma holder in Nattuvangam from Annamalai University.
